Let's rip the band-aid, shall we? It's never good when an outlook begins by saying you should get prepared. AccuWeather says it could be a very snowy winter for the midwest, which of course includes our neck of the woods. They write;

AccuWeather Predicts Frigid Winter For Minnesota

Yup, it's going to be cold, which is a give-in right? However, AccuWeather says it could be especially cold this winter, making mention of how high energy bills could get, writing:

Cold will take hold early in December before easing in January, when a brief thaw is likely. By February, winter is forecast to return in force.

We are thankfully prepared for rough winters in the Northland, however we have had a mild winter the past few seasons so we may have gotten used to warm winters. Only time will tell for sure.
