This is absolutely terrible! I am shocked that anyone would lash out at the humane society but I guess nothing is too shocking anymore.

Staff with Animal Allies shared a message on social media Tuesday (September 16th), mentioning that they've been on the receiving end of some angry people as of late.

Animal Allies is located along Airport Road in Duluth, and is Duluth's only humane society at the moment. They do so much for pets in the Northland.

For example, earlier this year, they helped tremendously when it came to coordinating homes for pets displaced by the Minnesota wildfires. That's just one example of many.

The scariest part? Someone even took the time to mess with their sign because this person didn't like the 'policies and procedures' of Animal Allies. You can see a photo, along with their full post, below.

Animal Allies Meets Ugliness With Kindness In Social Media Post

Starting off their post with kindness really hits home. Staff acknowledge how hard but rewarding their jobs are. They note that emotions are high when it comes to the animals at Animal Allies and that causes people to take it out on staff.

They also shared that they had nearly 100 surrender requests last month, on top of everything else they do at Animal Allies. They continued to counter the anger they've received lately with kindness, writing:

We are doing our very best for every animal that comes through our doors, often with limited resources and heavy hearts when situations are difficult.
Please remember: kindness goes a long way. A calm conversation helps us help you — and, most importantly, helps the animals.
Wow! I know emotions run high and staff acknowledge that as well, but I still can't believe people would take it out on staff doing such important work.
