Lake Superior Named One Of The Most Picturesque Lakes

I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that Lake Superior was just named one of the most picturesque lakes in the country. The bad news? It could have done better!

According to a new report from vacation rental site Lake.Com, Lake Superior is the third most picturesque lake in the country. They looked at Instagram posts with the #LakeSuperior hashtag to help determine its place on this list.

Here's a question: how is it not the most picturesque? Maybe I have a soft spot for Lake Superior since I am a Duluthian but I have a hard time believing there is one even more beautiful.

Lake Superior is the backdrop for Duluth and is truly stunning no matter the time of year, from winter to summer to fall. Everyone loves it and many people stay because of it. Who doesn't want to wake up this beauty each day?

It also may be the fact that Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the country and the entire world thanks to its surface area. That is another reason we should be number one here.

This travel website says that, at the time of their recent study, there were 1,187,896 Instagram posts that used the Lake Superior hashtag.

The most 'picturesque' lake is Lake Tahoe, which had well over one-million Instagram posts using the corresponding hashtag. I have never been so I can't speak to it being better than Lake Superior but I guess I should take a visit and find out!
