One Of Northern Minnesota’s Longest-Running Restaurants Is Closing

A Northland favorite for pizza, burgers, chicken, sandwiches, salads, and more has announced they are closing after nearly 42 years in business.

According to FOX 21, owners Mike and Deb Pracher moved to the Esko location, at 3 E. Highway 61, in 2020 after 38 years in West Duluth.

The Mike's Cafe & Pizzeria Facebook page broke the news recently while also explaining the reason behind the decision.

Their heartfelt post said in part:

Our time in Esko was an amazing way to end the MANY years of our restaurant career and now Mike and Deb are ready for the semi-retired life! Mike has worked hard in the restaurant business for almost 50 years and it has taken a toll on his body, so it time for him to slow a bit (and for those who know him, that's very hard to do 😜) and ENJOY life! ❤️ 🎣 🏍

They added that although they would be closing, those wishing to pay Mike's Cafe & Pizzeria a final visit would have a little bit of time to get that done. Friday, May 21 will be their last day of business.

Mike's Cafe & Pizzeria's business hours are Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. They are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
