
Salmonella Outbreak Linked To Frozen Beans Sold In Minnesota
The United States Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for a product sold nationwide that has been linked to a recent salmonella outbreak. Cases are showing up across the US, including Minnesota.
The salmonella outbreak is linked to frozen sprouted beans. Specifically, it's the Deep-brand frozen sprouted mat and moong beans. The product samples tested positive for Salmonella, and they were able to match the strain causing the illness to the strain found in the beans.
No deaths have been reported yet, but four people have been hospitalized. Following the investigation, Chetak LLC Group initiated a recall of the Deep-brand Sprouted Mat in 1-pound packages with the lot codes: IN 24330, IN 25072, IN 25108, IN 24353,
IN 25171, IN 24297, IN 25058, IN 25078, IN 24291, IN 25107, IN 24354, IN 24292.
The lot numbers can be found on the back of the packaging.
Also included in the recall is the Deep-brand Sprouted Moong in 1 lb packages with the lot codes: IN 24330, IN 25072, IN 25108, IN 24353, IN 25171, IN 24297, IN 25058, IN 25078, IN 24291, IN 25107, IN 24354, IN 24292

People have been sickened in Minnesota, Illinois, Washington, Tennessee, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
