This is reason to celebrate. It was just a few years ago that Wisconsin was being named the grossest state in the country! (Just kidding - but it really was!)

Not to try to one-up Wisconsin here, but Minnesota was recently named the smartest state in the country in the same study, coming in at number one.

What Makes A State 'Smarter' Than Others In The U.S.?
EssayShark conducted this study and looked at a bunch of factors, including average IQ scores, high school completion rates and literacy rates in each state. That's not all though!

Analysts also looked at college entrance exam results and economic performance. After working some magic, they created this list of the smartest states in the country, with Wisconsin placing really high.

Cheers, Wisconsin! Wisconsin was named the third smartest state in the country here. Why? According to this study, it has the highest high school graduation rates in the country at nearly 96 percent.
