Our news partners at WDIO are reporting Thursday morning that a bridge over Interstate 35 in Duluth has been temporarily closed following a truck making contact with the structure while driving under it it.

In a press release from MNDOT about the incident, they explain that the 40th Avenue West bridge over I-35 was closed due to damage sustained to the structure from a truck.

MNDOT alerts drivers on I-35 that they can expect lane closures as crews inspect the bridge following the incident. There are also traffic impacts to the 40th Avenue West bridge itself as crews conduct their inspections.

As of the time of this article being published, you can see a MNDOT truck blocking the right lane of the Northbound lanes of I-35 and traffic moving along in the left lane heading northbound toward Downtown Duluth.

As of right now, it is unclear how long the closures or inspection will last. It was not reported when the collision occurred at the time this story was published.
