Summer of Fear: Dog Attacks Terrorize One Minnesota Town
One city in Minnesota has been in the news a lot this summer for the number of dog attacks that have left several injured and one child dead.
In the latest attack, police rushed to an apartment building on Tuesday after receiving reports of a woman screaming for help. They discovered a woman who had been brutally attacked by three pit bulls belonging to her and her boyfriend.

Dog Attacks Plague Minnesota City
The woman who live at the Huntington Place Apartments in Brooklyn Park was taken to the hospital where she was in critical but stable condition according to KARE 11, she is expected to survive her injuries.
This is at least the fourth such attack in the Twin Cities suburb of nearly 84,000 residents this summer, the first of which happened on July 19th, a mother and her 3-year-old boy were attacked while looking at a puppy, the boy did not survive the attack.
Series of Dog Attacks
That incident was followed by another just days after, in which a 7-year-old girl was attacked, and another child was nearly mauled at a playground before the dog was shot by police.
And in early August, Brooklyn Park police warned residents about some husky-wolf mixes that attacked a homeowner and other animals in the area, police found those dogs put them into quarantine.
National Dog Bite Statistics
On average, 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year, and about 80,000 of those bites require medical attention. Most bites happen to children, especially those under the age of four. 30 to 50 people die each year in the United States from dog attacks.
