
Four Hospitalized After Crashing into Buckled Stretch of Southern Minnesota Freeway
Adrian, MN (KROC-AM News)- Four people were taken to a hospital after crashing on a buckled stretch of a Minnesota freeway.

Two vehicles, each carrying two occupants, hit the buckled road surface. The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly before 6:45 Tuesday evening.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) posted a warning of the buckled interstate on its X account around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Four Injured after Two Vehicles Strike Buckled Stretch of I-90 in Southwestern Minnesota
The motorists crashed into a buckled stretch of interstate 90, about 28 miles east of the Minnesota-South Dakota border near Adrian.
Two SUVs were traveling east when they hit the buckled roadway, according to the state crash report.
The State Patrol identified the drivers as 71-year-old David Junior Barkema of Belmond, IA and 76-year-old David Gerald Hayse of Gulf Breeze, FL.
The passengers were identified as 71-year-old Jeanne Marie Barkema, also from Belmond, IA and Cheryl Leigh Hayse, who is also a Gulf Breeze, FL resident.
All of the injuries suffered in the crash were non-life-threatening. The vehicle occupants were brought to a hospital in Worthington for further care, according to the State Patrol.
Everyone was buckled up and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the state crash report says.
The National Weather Service indicates the high temperature in the area of the crash reached into the upper 80’s on Tuesday.
I-90 east is down to a single lane as of Wednesday morning as crews continue work to repair the road buckle, according to MnDOT.
