Frost Advisory Overnight Followed by Freeze Warning
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The next couple of nights are expected to feel very autumn like in southeastern Minnesota.
The National Weather Service this afternoon issued frost advisories and freeze warnings for Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
The frost advisory will be in effect in southeastern Minnesota from 1 AM until 8 AM on Tuesday. Forecasters are predicting low temperatures around 30-degrees throughout the region by early tomorrow morning.
The National Weather Service also posted a freeze warning for the region that will be in effect from 1 AM until 9 AM on Wednesday. A hard freeze as possible with the forecast calling for low temperatures as cold as the mid-20s in some areas of southeastern Minnesota Wednesday morning.
Anyone with outdoor plants they wish to keep alive for a little while longer is advised to cover them up or take other steps to protect them from freezing. Homeowners are also being reminded to disconnect all outside water hoses and sprinkler systems to prevent burst pipes.
The chilly air is not expected to stick around very long. The National Weather Service forecast currently calls for sunny skies and a high around 60 on Wednesday and the possibility of afternoon temperatures in the low to mid 70s by Friday and extending through the weekend.
