Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) -The Hennepin County Grand Jury has returned a first-degree murder indictment against a Twin Cities woman accused of the shotgun murder of her young son.

28-year-old Julissa Thaler was arraigned today in Hennepin County Court on the charges included in the indictment, which added the first-degree murder count to the second-degree murder charge that was filed against the Spring Park woman last year.

She was arrested last year after Orono place found the body of 6-year-old Eli Hart in the trunk of her car following a traffic stop. Orono police were investigating reports of erratic driving and found Thaler driving a vehicle that had a shattered rear window and was missing a tire. The criminal complaint says the child had been shot multiple times with a shotgun.

Following the unsealing of the Grand Jury indictment, bail for Thaler was increased to $2 million. She is currently scheduled to stand trial beginning on January 30th.
