Kasson-Mantorville School Latest to be Threatened by Snapchat Message
Kasson, MN (KROC-AM News)- Kasson-Mantorville is the latest school district in southeast Minnesota to receive a threatening snapchat message.

The Kasson Police Department says the message is similar to the other snapchat messages that were sent out that threatened violence at other schools across the state and country.
On Wednesday, the Plainview-Elgin-Millville School District received a similar threat that led to the searching of students at one of the district’s schools and increased law enforcement presence at all of the district’s schools.
The Plainview-Elgin-Millville School District and Kasson-Mantorville School District both say the Snapchat messages were sent by an unknown person.
Snapchat Message from Unknown Sender Threatening Violence at Kasson-Mantorville Middle School Determined to be Hoax
The Kasson Police Department says in a news release the threatening message was sent to a student just after 2:00 Thursday afternoon. It threatened violence at the district’s middle school.
Police say the threat appears to be a hoax, however extra patrols are planned across the Kasson-Mantorville School District.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting Kasson police with investigating the threat. Police are asking anyone in the community who receives a similar message to contact the Kasson Police Department at 507-634-3881.
