Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester police are investigating another fatal shooting.

The early morning incident in northwest Rochester was the second apparent homicide in the city in just the past two weeks. There was also a shooting last weekend that left a woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Rochester Police Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson is reporting that officers responded around 1 AM to a residence in the 4100 block of Manor Woods Drive Northwest where a man had been shot. A news release says life saving measures were provided, but the shooting victim died at the scene.

One person was taken into custody. Grayson indicated that there were no other injuries and there is no known threat to the general public. She also stated it is an open active investigation.

The name of the shooting victim has not been released.


Rochester police have yet to report any arrests for the fatal shooting that occurred on the evening of November 21. A Rochester man, identified as 28-year-old Dahir Dahir, was found suffering from fatal gunshot wounds near the intersection of 1st Avenue and 10th Street Southeast, in an area just southwest of the Olmsted Medical Center.

Four days later, Rochester police responded to a report of a shooting in the 5100 block of 51st Street Northwest near Northern Hills Golf Course. The responding officers found a woman outside of a residence with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. While investigators indicated that they believed the shooting was not random, there have also been no arrests in that case.
