Experience Rochester today presented its 2026 Community Champion Award to Rochester Magazine Editor Steve Lange.

Lange, who has served as editor of the magazine for more than a quarter-century and has been a regular guest on News-Talk 1340 KROC-AM and 96.9 FM for the same amount of time, was honored for “storytelling that has helped define Rochester’s identity and sense of place.”

Contributions to Rochester Community

A news release issued by Experience Rochester says the award was established in 2024 to recognize individuals who make a meaningful impact on the Rochester community and contribute to its “vibrancy, connection, and overall quality of life.”

“Steve Lange embodies what it means to be a Community Champion,” said Joe Ward, President of Experience Rochester and Mayo Civic Center. “For more than two decades, he has helped tell Rochester’s story with depth, curiosity, and consistency, shaping how we understand our community and the people in it.”
