Taylor Swift Makes ‘ Substantial’ Donation to Rochester Food Bank
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Channel One Regional Food Bank has become the latest beneficiary of Taylor Swift's current concert tour.
The Rochester-based charitable organization today announced it has received a substantial donation from the popular singer-songwriter, who is scheduled to perform tonight and tomorrow night at US Bank Stadium Minneapolis as part of her sold-out The Eras Tour. A spokesperson for Channel One says Swift's staff requested that the dollar amount of the donation remain confidential but similar donations to Food Banks in Arizona and Nevada earlier in the tour were described by Billboard Magazine as "sizable," "generous," and "massive."
A news release announcing the donation to Channel One says the organization is thankful to be chosen as a recipient, and the contribution will significantly enhance Channel One's ability to fulfill its mission of strengthening food access and building healthy communities.
"Channel One is immensely grateful to Taylor Swift for her incredible support," stated Virginia Merritt, Executive Director of Channel One. "This donation will make a tremendous difference in our ability to
address food insecurity.”
The news release states the funds contributed by Taylor Swift will directly benefit individuals and families in southeast Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
