
Update: Man & Woman Fighting for Their Lives After Head-on Crash With Semi on Minnesota Interstate
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- A man and woman from Colorado are fighting for their lives following a head-on crash with a semi truck on I-90 in southeast Minnesota.

The crash occurred in Winona County around 1:10 Tuesday afternoon. Snow and ice were detected on the interstate.
Two people from Colorado were in an SUV that collided head-on with the semi heading in the opposite direction about 11 miles east of the interstate’s Winona exit.
The State Patrol has released more information regarding the severe crash.

The updated crash report says the westbound SUV went through the median and entered the freeway’s eastbound lanes where it and the semi collided head-on.

20-year-old Ryan Joseph Canton of Colorado Springs has been identified as the SUV driver. Canton and his passenger, identified as 21-year-old Grace Elizabeth Carney of Colorado Springs, suffered life-threatening injuries.
The Colorado man and woman were taken to a hospital in La Crosse for further care. They were both buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the serious crash, the updated report says.
47-year-old Sean S Aqel of Eagan was identified as the truck driver. He was not hurt.
The Winona County Sheriff’s Office, Wilson Fire Department and Tri-County Ambulance also responded to the head-on collision.
