Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- Officials have identified the woman who was found dead last week near a Rochester shopping center and school.

A news release issued last week says the Rochester Police Department launched a death investigation after a woman was found dead in the snow next to a man around 2:50 on the afternoon of February 28.

The woman’s body and the man were spotted in the area of 14th St. and 4th Ave. Southwest, which is just north of the Rochester Math and Science Academy and just west of the Crossroads Shopping Center.

The Southern Minnesota Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the deceased woman as 57-year-old Pamela Anne Keeler. Her cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.

Police said last week that the woman, now identified as Keeler, is believed to have been homeless. The man found at the scene was described by authorities to be in “immediate need of medical care.”

He was given aid by responding officers then taken to a hospital where he was reported to be recovering as of last week. An update regarding his condition is not available. 

At last report the Rochester Police Department said the death investigation is ongoing.
