The SUV was heading west in the eastbound lanes when it collided with the eastbound pick-up truck, according to the state crash report.

Claremont, MN (KROC-AM News)- A wrong-way driver was brought to a hospital after crashing on Hwy. 14 in southeast Minnesota

That’s according to the State Patrol which responded to the two-vehicle accident shortly after 1:30 Sunday morning.

An SUV and pick-up truck were involved. Two people were occupying the pick-up and the driver was the sole occupant of the SUV.

The crash occurred about nine miles east of Owatonna at the Steele County Rd. 16 overpass of Hwy. 14. 

The SUV was heading west in the eastbound lanes when it collided with the eastbound pick-up truck, according to the state crash report. 

34-year-old Benjamin Douglas Pollock of Kasson was driving the pick-up. He and his passenger, identified as 52-year-old Daniel Jimmy Storlie of Byron, were not hurt, the State Patrol says.

The SUV was driven by 48-year-old Lori Kay Linsmeier of Mankato. She was brought to a hospital in Owatonna with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol. 

Linsmeier had alcohol in her system at the time of the crash, the state crash report indicates. The State Patrol says everyone was buckled up.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Steele County Sheriff’s Office, Owatonna Fire Department, Claremont Fire and EMS and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the wrong-way crash.
