Salzbrun Named Chamber Small Business Owners of the Year

ST. CLOUD (WJON News) - The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2024 Small Business Owners of the Year, the Family-Owned Business of the Year, and the 2024 Women in Business champion.

This year’s small business owners of the year are Jeremy and Emily Salzbrun from H and S Heating, Air Conditioning, Electrical, and Plumbing.

Jeremy and Emily bought the business from Jeremy’s parents in 2012. They quickly outgrew their small garage in Luxemburg and moved into St. Cloud in 2014.

Jeremy says the past decade has seen many changes in the business, especially in energy efficiency.

With the high increases in electrical, your electric costs, your cost of living at home, the gas increases, stuff like that. High efficiency is a huge demand, and being there for your customers 24 hours a day is extremely important to us. Because with technology and everything in the palm of your hand, you (have to) jump to meet the demands of the customer.

Emily is the co-owner of H and S. She says it can be a challenge and a reward working every day with your spouse.

There were parts of it that were challenging, but I think we do a good job at balancing each other so that we can feed off of each other and create a good work environment for everybody.

H and S Heating, Air Conditioning, Electrical, and Plumbing has grown into a staff of 32 technicians, 25 service vehicles, and a 14,000-square-foot facility in St. Cloud. Jeremy Salzbrun says the business will continue to grow.

I set some goals when we purchased the business,  and we are hitting them. So we set some new goals - helping more people out, growing, and expanding. And just having a blast while we're doing it.

In addition to Jeremy and Emily Salzbrun being named as the St. Cloud Area Small Business Owners of the Year, the Chamber has also named Jim, Andy, and Dave Jacobs with Jacobs Financial as the 2024 Family-Owned Business of the Year, and Jill Magelssen from Express Employment Professionals as the 2024 Women in Business Champion.

The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize all the award winners at a luncheon on May 1st, beginning at 11:30 at the Park Events Center.
