Kenyon-Wanamingo Volleyball Stays #6 in Latest Poll

The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights won the Tri-City United Tournament in Montgomery over the weekend.  The Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association did not budge them in the rankings.

The Knights also defeated perennial volleyball power Stewartville in the Tigers gym Monday night with libero Rachel Ryan, senior, achieving her 1,000th career dig.

Scores were 25-15, 25-18, 25-21.  Setter Carmen Nerison had 19 assists, 4 ace serves, 15 digs for K-W.

Rachel Ryan had 21 digs, Josie Flom 14 digs.

Audrey Haugen led the offense with 6 kills, Nora Rechtzigel and Addy Lindell each had 5 kills.

The Knights got 8 ace serves.  Defense was the key in the victory with 78 total digs in the sweep at Stewartville.

Kenyon-Wanamingo is now 18-1 this year.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown are listed in Class AA , Byron and Kasson-Mantorville join Northfieled in Class AAA.

Lakeville South and North are #4 and #5 in largest schools with Eagan #2, Rosemount receiving votes and New Prague #8.
