Winona, MN (KROC-AM News)- A bicyclist was taken to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle at a busy intersection in Winona County.

It happened shortly before 11:00 Sunday morning. The State Patrol indicates motorist and bicyclist were the only people involved in the incident.

Car-Bike Crash at Hwy. 61 & Huff St. in Winona Sends Bicyclist to Hospital
The car-bicycle crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Huff St. in Winona.
The car was traveling in the northbound lane of Hwy. 61 when it hit the bike in the intersection, the state crash report says.
A direction of travel for the bicyclist was not included in the crash report. The status of the traffic light at the time of the crash is also not included.
67-year-old Scott Adrian Sabotta of Winona was identified as the bicyclist. He was brought to a hospital in La Crosse with non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol says.
30-year-old Jessica Smith was driving the car. The State Patrol says she escaped the crash without injuries.
Alcohol was not involved in the crash, the state crash report indicates. Winona Area Ambulance, the Winona Police Department and the Winona County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the car-bicycle crash.
