400 Popular Gas Stations Getting New Name – See Minnesota + Iowa Locations
When I was a kid, there were two gas stations that we went to in Iowa. One was Casey's (and they had the best donuts). The other was Kum & Go.
To all of you Gen Zers, there was a time when going to a gas station was not an enjoyable experience. Gas station coffee was something you drank out of desperation. And before Kwik Trip set the standard of gas station cleanliness, every gas station in the 1980s was a bit sketch. Some even required us to use a key to open a door on the outside of the building for the bathroom. And when you got inside, you really didn't want to be there. There were no regular cleaning schedules and charts to check off on the door. Plain and simple, they were just nasty, practically all the time.
Throughout the years, Kum & Go has changed its look, (aka...the bathroom situation has gotten better than my experiences as a kid ), and based on the latest news, they are now also changing their name.

Say Goodbye to Kum & Go in Minnesota and Iowa
According to CNN, Kum & Go, which is widely popular in the Midwest, is rebranding all 400 of its locations.
Back in 2023, a rival chain called Maverik, bought out the Kum & Go brand. According to the statement in the CNN article, they are now working to unify all of the Kum & Go stores to be under the Maverik brand.
Kum & Go locations are gearing up to take convenience to the next level when they reopen as Maverik — Adventure's First Stop. We're working hard to make the transition as seamless as possible, but there will be some brief closures during each location's remodeling process. - maverik.com
