The Midwest is mourning today - After more than 60 years, Kum & Go, a well-known Iowa brand is set to disappear.

According to Convenience Store News, Kum and Go is the 24th-largest convenience store chain in the United States with stores operating in Iowa, Arkansas, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.

If you've spent any time in Iowa, you're probably familiar with the gas stations. The company's main offices are located in the Hawkeye state, along with most of its 400 stores. Sadly, Kum and Gos are about to become a thing of the past.

CSP Daily News quoted a former Maverik member who said, "I think there was some concern about the inadvertent double entendre of the Kum & Go name.”  The source also shared that Maverik's CEO, Chuck Maggelet, has big plans and intends to challenge popular Midwest brands like Casey's and Kwik Trip.

Kum & Go, with all its double-entendre charm, is a beloved brand in the Midwest, so I'm kind of bummed to see it going away. I bet many devoted customers will grab a logo-emblazoned hat or hoodie as a memento.

Maverik plans to phase out all Kum & Go branding by 2025. Keep scrolling to see other famous brands that have disappeared over the years - How many do you remember?
