Downtown Road Closures This Weekend Due to Med City Marathon

This weekend is the 30th Med City Marathon. Set-up has already begun in downtown Rochester, MN, but events kick off on Saturday and Sunday is the big day for the marathon. And with these races comes some road closures that you'll want to be aware of.

Med City Marathon Weekend

Saturday is the official start of the Med City Marathon weekend, with an expo for runners at the Chateau and live music. Saturday afternoon is the kids run and Saturday evening is the 5K race.

Then on Sunday morning is the full marathon, half marathon, relay marathon, and 20 miler.

All of that being said, a portion of roads downtown will be closed for a little while on Saturday evening as well as Sunday morning for the events.

Rochester, MN Roads Closed for the Med City Marathon

The road closures will be on 1st Ave. and 3rd St. downtown. Police will be managing traffic, so if you end up in the area, they can help you navigate where you need to go.

The closures will be a similar situation to Thursdays Downtown, so if you're familiar with how that works and how to maneuver around that, you'll be fine.
