Red Lobster to Close 23 More Locations, Including Two in Minnesota
Did you know the lobster on Red Lobster’s logo is their mascot and even has a name? According to Delish, his name is Clawd—like the French “Claude.” Red Lobster started 56 years ago in Lakeland, Florida. It began as a small chain with just a few locations but expanded nationwide in the 1980s.
At the start of this year, there were about 650 Red Lobster restaurants, including 11 in Minnesota. However, the company has been struggling lately. Known for its unlimited shrimp deals and cheddar bay biscuits, Red Lobster is going through bankruptcy and recently announced the closure of several more locations.
