A new report from Hard Rock Bet set out to find which states are the most anti-Valentine’s Day… and Illinois did not exactly send flowers.

The ranking looked at four factors: divorce lawyers, percentage of unmarried residents, negative social media sentiment, and Google searches for anti-Valentine’s terms.

Illinois logged:

  • 13,740 monthly Google searches for things like “how to break up with my partner”
  • 1,539 divorce lawyers statewide
  • 53.4% of residents unmarried
  • 42% negative Valentine’s social posts

Forty-two percent. That’s not heartbreak, that’s a vibe.

The States That Beat Us

  1. California
  2. New York
  3. Florida

And maybe Googling “relationship red flags” 13,740 times a month.
