Westley Himself: Cary Elwes to Host ‘Princess Bride’ Screening in Rockford
The man who played Westley in the classic flick The Princess Bride is headed to Rockford.
Cary Elwes has appeared in many movies over the past 30-40 years, including Saw, Kiss the Girls, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
However, his role as leading man Westley in The Princess Bride will forever be considered his biggest and best.
That being said, Elwes is headed to Rockford for a special screening of the hit 1987 flick The Princess Bride as part of a touring production called The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes.
While I typically think of Wallace Shawn when I hear "It's inconceivable" uttered, The Princess Bride was his biggest flick, so it makes sense that he's the show's big star.
My Stateline says Elwes will be on hand to "share behind-the-scenes anecdotes about making the film."
Having been to one of these myself, I know there is usually a Q&A after the screening; however, it is not listed as a feature of the event.
Screenings with one of the movie's stars aren't the first to come through Rockford.
