2014 Illinois Radio Contest Will Make You Never Want to Eat Peeps Again
Nearly a dozen years ago… someone at a Rockford radio station had what seemed like a brilliant Easter idea.
And by “brilliant,” I mean the kind of idea that sounds fun for about ten seconds… right before it becomes a sticky, marshmallow-filled regret.
The 2014 97ZOK Contest Called “Peeps in Your Piehole”
Back in 2014, a few of the DJs at 97ZOK decided to hold a completely informal Easter challenge. We called it “Peeps in Your Piehole.”
The concept was simple. Horribly simple.
Stuff as many marshmallow Peeps into your mouth as possible… and still clearly say:
“Happy Easter from 97ZOK.”
That’s it. That was the whole contest.
No trophies. No prizes. Just pride… and an alarming amount of sugar.
When Easter Candy Turns Into a Terrible Life Choice
If you’ve ever eaten a Peep, you know they’re soft, sugary, and harmless-looking.
But when you start stacking them in your mouth like edible packing peanuts, something changes. Fast.
Suddenly it’s sticky. It’s sugary. It’s expanding. And the ability to form actual words becomes… complicated.
Which is the moment where a tiny voice in your head starts asking an important question:
Why did I agree to do this?

The Reason I Will Never Eat Peeps Again
I’ll admit this part in first person… this was a terrible decision I made.
Because once you experience that much marshmallow sugar compressed into your mouth at once, Peeps stop looking like cute little Easter treats.
They start looking like a bad memory.
You’ll Have to Watch to See How Bad It Got
I’m not telling you how many Peeps I managed to cram in there.
Honestly, it’s better if you just watch the video and see for yourself.
Just don’t blame me if this makes you rethink Peeps forever.
