
Illinois Residents Are Terrified of This More Than Anything Else
You ever sit around and think about your biggest fears? I know some people are all casual about it, like, "Spiders freak me out." For me? My two biggest fears are way more dramatic.
I've always feared two things: sinkholes and bridges collapsing on top of me. Why? Because they could happen at any moment, any time, and to anybody. It's random scenarios that could happen that scare me the most. You know?

Turns out, I'm not alone when it comes to unique fears. A new survey came out from Casino.ca asking 3,000 Americans about their biggest fears. The results are pretty surprising considering last year we said our biggest fear was failure in Illinois.
Guess what? It changed this year!

Nationally, the top leading fears were a little more predictable: spiders, death, ghosts, heights, and enclosed spaces. And death was the #1 across 17 states, including New York, California, and Texas.
In Illinois, we fear public speaking the most.

It's kind of ironic because it's my literal job. Talking to thousands of people every day on the radio, public appearances, and hosting events is what I do. I've conquered that anxiety over the last four years, so I'm kind of happy it's not on my fears list.
Here's what also stood out to me: only 3% of people said they're completely fearless. Fear is AFRAID of them, literally. Wish that was me, but I'm out here waiting for a sinkhole to open up beneath my feet and swallow me whole.
