Illinois & Wisconsin Cities on Dubious 20 Most Dangerous Places in the US List
One city from Wisconsin and Illinois landed in the 20 most dangerous places in the US for 2024 according to a new report.
The U.S. News & World Report runs through the list of each state and ranks the most to least dangerous, and unfortunately, a few towns we love made the list.
Crime rate can be one of the deciding factors of where families settle down. Based on the metro areas’ murder and property crime rates per 100,000 people, determined by FBI crime reports, these are the most dangerous places to live in the United States.
According to their findings, Rockford is called the 12th most dangerous place in America.
Honestly, I was a bit surprised but U.S. News & World Report says the quality of life is at 6.1, and value (whatever that means) is at 7.4 for The Forest City qualifying it as dangerous. The overall score for Rockford was 5.7.
Milwaukee was also in the top 20, coming in as the 19th most dangerous city in America.
The quality of life was higher than Rockford but value (again, whatever that means) is lower, so go figure.
The overall score was a bit higher than Rockford too with Milwaukee scoring a 6.1.
Ultimately, I have beef with this list, especially when you consider the general public believes Chicago to be one of the most unsafe on Earth.
In case you’re wondering, Chicago is not even listed on the 25 most dangerous.
