What You’re Really Saving During Dry January in Illinois
Money (the obvious) - When you stop ordering drinks every weekend, your tab starts to look pretty healthy because it's never just one drink. It's the second because it tastes good, the third because you're having fun, and all the shots you pay for everyone around you.
Hangovers - The headaches. The dry mouth. Upset stomach. The feeling of "blah" all day even with a thousand milligrams of Tylenol you pop. The low energy that follows the next day is the worst. With mocktails, you don't have to worry about that!
Bloatedness - I get puffy every time I drink. My fingers swell so much that my rings are way too tight at the end of the night. Alcohol has a way of making you feel puffy, sluggish, and uncomfy. Save yourself from being bloated, try Dry January!
A beer belly - Calories add up fast, and Dry January quietly cuts a big chunk of them out without you having to "try" too hard.

So, it's not just about skipping the drinks. It's about saving your energy, your comfort, your confidence, and money. And once you notice all of that? It kind of makes you rethink how often you really need that next drink.
