Some teachers make an impression the moment you meet them… and the more time you spend in their classroom, the more you realize how much they care about their students’ growth, both academically and personally. This week’s 97ZOK Teacher of the Week is being recognized for the way he challenges students to think differently, speak up, and believe in their own potential. Whether it’s encouraging bold ideas in the classroom or pushing a student to take a leadership role they never thought possible, his passion for helping kids grow is something students don’t forget.

As Teacher of the Week, Jeff was surprised with a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes, money to spend at WM Day Spa Salon, and lunch courtesy of Redd Insurance Group.

Makenna Tegard nominated Mr. Wagner, she writes,

Mr. Wagner (Big Wags) can seem like quite the odd man when you first meet him. Once you know him you create a friendship. Personally, he pushed me to be my best self academically and as a person. He was my honors Language Arts teacher last year (7th grade) and he always listened to out of the box ideas (even if they were incredibly incorrect). Also, he helped me lean out of my comfort zone and run for president of Student Council. He was president of student council at RMS back in the day and has a deep connection to the school. Mr. Wagner finds the good and potential in the most difficult of students and truly has passion for what he does.
