Parents of students at a local middle school where six were hospitalized Wednesday after ingesting THC gummies say the children may not have known they were given drugs.
Back when cannabis was illegal in states like Illinois, people kept it on the down low and hidden. Everyone had their special hiding spot for their weed. Since it's legal now, there is no need to keep it a secret. Sometimes that could cause an issue. Kids are now finding their parents' edibles and thinking it's candy. They'll bring it to school and share the gummies with their friends. Of course, that doesn't work out well for the students or the school.

The latest incident happened at Round Lake Middle School. A student found their parents' cannabis gummies and brought them to school. They passed them out to friends during breakfast. The kids ended up having to be sent to the local hospital in an ambulance. Their young minds aren't ready to experiment with edibles. Someone is going to get in trouble for this issue.
