Donation Drive Continues For IL Army Reserves Being Deployed

Thank you to everyone who came out for the kickoff of the drive. If you didn't get a chance to come out that day, it's okay. You can still help out, It will be continuing now through Friday, November 10th at 5 p.m.

Did You Know There's a U.S. Army Reserve Center In The Rockford Area?

I don't think a lot of people in the Rockford area realize there's a U.S. Army Reserve Center in Machesney Park where local troops from Illinois are deployed for their next assignment.

Last spring, I was given an amazing experience. I was able to visit the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Machesney Park. I left so honored to be invited for a visit. I don't believe a lot of people know it's in our area. It's where local troops from Illinois come before they're deployed to their next assignment.

 Donations Needed For Local U.S. Army Troops Being Deployed From The Area

The Machesney Park Reserve Base likes to provide items to the troops to take with them while they're gone. Hopefully, those things can help make their adventure a little more comfortable. They are all provided by donations. With Veterans Day right around the corner, we thought this would be the perfect time to help out. Here's what they are looking for.

• Socks black or white crew.

• Beef sticks.

• Popcorn.

• Dry and packaged snacks including pop tarts, gummies, and etc.

• Sunblock.

• Anti-itch bug cream.

• Water flavor packets.

• Games (no batteries).

• Nut snacks.

• Sunflower seeds (flavored).

• Q-tips.

• Koozies.
