I've been lucky enough to have been on a couple of professional ghost hunts in the Rockford area including at the Coronado Performing Arts Center, Veterans Memorial Hall, and Tinker Swiss Cottage.

I'll admit, going into those tours, I didn't really believe in ghosts. After having those experiences, especially at Tinker Swiss Cottage, my attitude has totally changed. There is something definitely out there in the spirit world.

If you haven't noticed, ghosts and the paranormal are more popular than ever. Especially, in pop culture. There are shows all over TV, the internet, and streaming services. You can also check out haunted tours throughout Illinois.

One type of facility that always seems to have some sort of paranormal activity is old theaters. Of course, we have those all over Illinois. Many of them offer ghost tours. They are much nicer places to go on a spirit hunt than some sort of abandoned building.

The Egyptian Theatre is an amazing historic theater in DeKalb. Like many others, it's known for being haunted. The building staff does offer paranormal tours quite often. I believe it would be a great place to search for spirits.

Their tours do offer a different type of twist to help make the evening fun. The bar is open in the theater and they serve drinks. I'm talking about adult beverages. You can catch a buzz on spirits while looking for spirits.
