The storied rivalry between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers is about to add another chapter this Saturday night.

When the playoff dates, times, and networks were announced on Sunday night, I'll admit I was a bit disappointed. After being out of the playoffs for some time, seeing the Bears penciled in to play on Prime Video was kind of lame.

Prime Video: The NFL's New Partner
Turns out, all five NFL broadcast partners wanted the Bears-Packers for themselves, and while the biggest games usually end up in the biggest, most important time slot, this time the league used it to boost up its newest partner, Prime Video.
Viewer Trends: NFL's Growing Audience
Not like it needs much help, Thursday Night Football, which airs on Prime Video, was up 16 percent from last year and averaged over 15 million viewers. If you watched, some of those Thursday night games were total stinkers, too, so the power of the NFL can't be underestimated.

Attracting a Younger Demographic
The other thing the NFL is trying to do is get more young eyeballs on the playoffs, and considering that Prime Video already brought in audiences reportedly seven years younger than traditional football broadcasts during the season, this will only add to that number, given the deep rivalry between the two teams.

Prime Video: A Trial Run for New Viewers
This will encourage those who have never tried Prime Video to at least see what it's all about. If that only means for one game.
