Freeport’s Lindo Theatre Is Getting a Major Comfort Upgrade

Freeport, Illinois' historic Lindo Theatre is getting some major upgrades this summer, and movie lovers are going to love it for two major reasons.

My family moved to Pecatonica, Illinois in 2021, and a few years ago I was introduced to the fabulousness of Classic Cinemas and the Lindo Theatre in Freeport.

My kids love going to the movies, but mom and dad don't always love what a trip to the movies does to our budget. That is one of the major reasons why we love Classic Cinemas at Lindo Theatre so much.

I love the historic character of the Lindo Theatre, but I love Classic Cinemas' prices even more so. The price to see most movies at Classic Cinemas is $6, even for evening shows! Can you remember the last time you paid that little at other, bigger movie theaters?!

Another reason my family loves the Lindo Theatre so much is the heated recliner seating they have in select theaters. In fact, my kids get upset when the movie they want to see isn't in one of the theaters with recliners, BUT, that is all changing soon!

Major Upgrades In Process at Lindo Theatre

It's no secret that movie theaters have been struggling in this post-COVID era. Far less people are choosing to go to the movies when they still have the option to stream new movies at home.

Movie theaters need to give customers a reason to come to them again, and Classic Cinemas believes adding more recliner seating will do that.

The addition of more reclining seating will reduce the theatre's overall capacity by half, but Classic Cinemas CEO Chris Johnson says the investment is worth it.

Johnson told Eyewitness News:

The Lindo has gone down a little bit last year, but this will get it right back in the ball game and really get it beyond kind of pre-COVID levels.

Lindo Theatre's first round of renovations will be finished by this Friday (5/8), so you better buy tickets to enjoy the new recliners now.
