From massive light displays to bundling up the kids to watch lighted Christmas parades, there is a TON of cool things to see and do this next month in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

Lighted Christmas Parades in the Stateline Area

If there’s one thing families in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin will always come out for, it’s a parade. Especially a lighted Christmas parade.

As soon as the turkey leftovers hit the fridge, parade fun begins in the Stateline area, and honestly, I totally get it.

It's impossible not to feel holiday joy while standing on a sidewalk, sipping on a mug of hot cocoa, watching dozens of Santas, Grinches, and snowmen roll by in vehicles done up in lights and blasting Christmas carols.

These parades remind me why I love living in the Stateline area: community togetherness, sparkle, tradition, and just enough chaos to keep it interesting.

Here are six Christmas parades coming up in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin that you need to mark on your calendar ASAP:

  • Grand Lighted Holiday Parade in Downtown Beloit, WI - Friday, November 28 starting at 6 p.m. Parade begins at Grand Avenue and 3rd Street and end at Grand Avenue and College Street.
  • Stroll on State Parade in Downtown Rockford - Saturday, November 29 starting at 2 p.m. Parade begins at Main and Chestnut and travels to 3rd Street.
  • Hometown Christmas Parade in Belvidere - Friday, December 5 starting at 5:30 p.m. Parade begins at State and Pleasant Street.
  • Christmas Walk Parade in Rockton - Saturday, December 6 starting at 6 p.m. Parade begins at Main and Center Street and ends at Hononegah High School.
  • Pecatonica Lighted Parade in Pecatonica - Saturday, December 6 starting at 6:15 p.m. Parade begins at Winnebago County Fairgrounds and travels down Main Street.
  • Jolly Jingle Parade in Janesville, WI - Saturday, December 6 starting at 6 p.m. Parade begins at West Milwaukee and S. Jackson Street and ends at West Racine.
