Spring Park, MN (KROC AM News) -  There was a fatal crash involving a jet ski and a juvenile on a popular Twin Cities lake on Wednesday.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol was contacted at 5:45 pm about the crash that happened on Lake Minnetonka.

Deputies arrived to find an unresponsive juvenile who had been pulled from the water by boaters. The sheriff’s office says the boaters had started CPR. Deputies took over life-saving measures and transported the victim to Water Patrol Headquarters in Spring Park where an ambulance was waiting. Medics’ attempts to save the victim’s life were unsuccessful.

The initial investigation reveals that the victim and another jet ski collided.

Authorities say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
