This week's snowfall likely contributed to a traffic death in western Wisconsin. Pierce County authorities said 51-year-old Joseph Lemieux of Lake City died after his car collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by a 35-year-old Spring Valley, Wisconsin man. The deadly collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. on on Highway 63 in the Pierce County town of Trenton. The other driver was transported to a Saint Paul hospital, while Lemieux was pronounced dead at the scene.(Minnesota News Network)
Slippery conditions also contributed to a fatal traffic crash in Carver County around the same time. The Minnesota State Patrol says 18-year-old Mickenzy Segler of New Prague lost control of her car, which slid sideways into the path of a pickup truck the county road near Chaska. The other driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
