Laptop with Over 1,400 Child Pornography Files Found in Rochester

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The execution of a search warrant in northwest Rochester has led to 10 felony counts of child pornography possession against a 43-year-old man.

Jon Jones of Rochester is accused of having the files on a laptop that was found in his room. The investigation began when the Rochester Police Department received a cyber tip about the files being uploaded to the device on August 5.

A search of Jones’s residence on August 31 uncovered the laptop that had over 1,400 images and two videos depicting children in sexual acts, according to the criminal complaint.

Investigators found some of the files involved a child between the ages of two and four engaged in sexual conduct. The complaint says Jones admitted to seeking and viewing some of the material.

The charges were filed in Olmsted County Court Monday. A court date has not yet been set.
