Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The suspension of a downtown Rochester bar’s liquor and food licenses has been lifted, but Legend’s Bar and Grill will remain closed through the weekend.

The Olmsted County Public Health Department today announced the 72-hour suspension for COVID-19 safety regulation violations ended at 3 PM Friday but the owner has agreed not to open until the agency’s consultation with the business can be completed early next week. A news release says Environmental Health staff is working with the owner, who plans to take significant action to put active controls in place for COVID-19 protections and risk protection. Several changes will also be made inside the bar to help maintain social distancing and customer compliance.

“Legends Bar and Grill ownership has committed to making significant changes that will be implemented and actively controlled by their management and staff, “ said Michael Melius, Associate Director of Olmsted County Public Health. “We believe with these improvements and a heightened awareness of the seriousness of the situation, that Legends Bar and Grill can re-open and operate safely.”

While the business remains closed, Public Health has agreed to remove the placards announcing the suspension from the entrances to the establishment. Legends was ordered closed on Tuesday for what the agency described as repeated violations of COVID-19 safety regulation.
