The scouts went through neighborhoods picking up items left outside hundreds of homes. Channel One executive director Jennifer Woodford says the preliminary collection total of the annual event is around 9,000 pounds of food items. The total will be included in the Minnesota Foodshare drive that runs through March. Channel One has a goal this year of 200,000 pounds of food and $185,000 in cash donations. The organization serves 3700 households in Olmsted County every month.
