(Rochester, Minn)-- The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today that local product, Logan Spitzack, from West Concord, MN will return to the team this summer.  The St. Cloud State Husky will bring teammate Ryan Diers from Belle Plaine, MN with him.

Spitzack, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound sophomore right-handed pitcher, is currently 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA for St. Cloud.  He made his 2014 debut on Sunday, Feb. 23rd vs. #20 Arkansas Tech University.  Spitzack went 6.0 innings allowing 5 runs on 9 hits and striking out 2.  Spitzack held his opponents scoreless through three innings before giving up a single run in the 4th and 4 in the 5th.  Last summer for the Honkers, Spitzack went 3-3 with a 5.30 ERA while striking out 26 in 54.1 innings of work.  He made 14 total appearances of which 10 were starts, ranking him second overall on the team.

A 2011 graduate of Triton High School, Spitzack was a three-sport athlete gaining accolades in football, basketball and baseball.  He currently holds a school record for points in a game for basketball and posted the lowest ERA for his baseball team.

Diers is a 6-foot-4, 190-pound sophomore left-handed pitcher who has made 1 appearance in the early 2014 season so far.  He tossed 2 innings of relief in the 12-1 loss to Quincy University on Feb. 23rd.

A 2011 graduate of Belle Plaine High School, Diers earned 3 letters in baseball, basketball and football.  He was a two-time All-Conference pick in baseball and also earned All-State accolades.  He finished his senior season 6-3 with 73 strikeouts, including 15 in one game.

The Rochester Honkers 21st season begins on May 27th when the Waterloo Bucks prance into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch.
