After 19 long months, FX's Emmy-winning 'Louie' will at long last return for a fourth season of new misanthropic adventures in the coming weeks. The initial spots for Louis C.K.'s FX return kept the comedian mostly obscured (when he wasn't diving off a bridge), but now the first bit of footage from the new season has arrived. Check out the latest 'Louie' life problem with a season 4 sneak peek!

The first official look at 'Louie' season 4 sees the comedian's somewhat-fictionalized portrayal of himself at the doctor's office for a back problem, though it doesn't seem as if the new doc (Charles Grodin) has any better bedside manner than the last, whom fans will remember played by Ricky Gervais. It's a short look, but a welcome relief to have 'Louie' back in our lives by the May 5 premiere.

Despite the 19 months in between ‘Louie’ seasons 3 and 4, Louis’ appearance on the new season of ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee‘ saw the comedian envisioning ‘Louie’ lasting “seven or eight years, tops,” while some of the scripts for season 4 have been written in collaboration with fellow comedian (and prior guest star) Steven Wright. The new season will also run for 14 episodes, delivering two new episodes each week for seven weeks straight.
