PHOENIX (AP) — The Minnesota Lynx will face the Phoenix Mercury in what could be considered a dream matchup in the WNBA's Western Conference finals.

The series, which starts Friday in Phoenix, will feature the WNBA's top two teams, with the league MVP, defensive player of the year and coach of the year all on the floor at the same time.

It also will be the third meeting in four years in the West finals between these two budding rivals.

The Lynx swept the Mercury in the 2011 and 2013 conference finals on their way to winning WNBA titles. Minnesota has reached the final round for three straight years, but Phoenix won three of four during the regular season this year.
