Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police say a 58-year-old man and three children ended up crashing through the ice covering the Foster Arend Park pond on Saturday.

The man and children -- ages 10 and 11 -- broke through around 3:30 p.m. and were rescued by two bystanders. A spokesman says the four were cold and wet but otherwise okay and were treated at the scene.

The Minnesota DNR has been warning residents about the danger of thinning ice because of the recent warm weather.
