March will go out like a wintry lion in parts of MN

Another major winter storm is headed to Minnesota and could impact northern and western parts of the state on the final day of March.  The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for the northern half of the state.  A blizzard watch covers a portion of western Minnesota from near the Iowa border to near the Canadian border.  The storm could dump heavy snow in the northwestern third of Minnesota over to International Falls.  Lighter snow and freezing rain may fall in the remainder of the watch zone.  Because of warmer temperatures, mostly rain is expected in southeastern Minnesota.

Rochester may experience its first 60 degree day today since October 27th.  If so, it will come nearly a month sooner than a year ago.
