Med City Marathon Is This Weekend

The 20th annual Med City Marathon events take place this Saturday and Sunday (May 23-24). The event has grown from a runner only event to a full weekend of fun for people of all ages, runners and walkers.  New this year is the addition of the Ronald McDonald family fun walk.  100% of the proceeds from the walk go directly to the Rochester Ronald McDonald house.  The 20^th anniversary will bring a big post-race party free and open to the public from 6 to9:30pm on the 24^th featuring the band PopRocks.

This year event organizers will also honor all seven runners who have completed the first 19 Med City Marathons and will likely complete their 20^th running of the race as well.
Keeping the event family friendly, there are events for all ages starting at 6 months with the diaper dash, followed by the toddler trot, mascot races and family fun walk.

10:00am – 7:00pm - Race packet pick-up
10:00am – 5pm - Kids Play Zone
11:00am - Med City Kids’ Marathon
12:00pm  - Diaper Dash/Toddler Trot
1:00pm - Mascot Races

1:45pm - Ronald McDonald Family Walk
5:00pm - 5K run/walk
5:30pm - Happy Hour with FREE beer! You must have a wristband for the free beer.  Wristbands can be picked up at the expo.

5:20am – 6:25am - Buses from Rochester to start in Byron~ Shuttle pick up is at the corner of 1^st Street SE & 1^st Avenue SE. The last bus leaves Rochester at 6:25am

5:30am – 6:45am – Race Day packet pick up Byron Elementary School
7:00am - Med City Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay, 20 Mile
8:00am – 1:30pm - Finish Line, Mayo Civic Center
9:00am - 2:00pm -  Kids Play Zone
10:30am – 2:00pm - Post Race Party featuring POP ROCKS !  FREE beer! You must have a wristband for the free beer.  Wristbands can be picked up at the expo
6:00pm -9:30pm  After party!
