 at the Minnesota Capitol. A bill that will be introduced would require businesses to notify individuals within 48 hours if their personal information has been compromised and give them a $100 gift card, free year of credit monitoring, and reimburse them for any charges incurred due to a data breach.

Target released its latest financial report this morning, based on numbers from November 1st through the end of January. The company says the data breach helped push its profit down 46 percent or by more than $400 million. Sales were down more than 5 percent during that period.
